Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup milk

1 large egg

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup beef broth

2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed

4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into wedges

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Hamburger Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Brown the Patties: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a little oil. Once hot, brown the hamburger patties on both sides until golden, about 3-4 minutes per side. They do not need to be cooked through, as they will finish cooking in the oven. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Create the Bake Mixture: In the same skillet, pour in the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer for a few minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.

Layer the Ingredients: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the green beans evenly across the bottom. Place the browned hamburger patties on top of the green beans. Add the potato wedges around the patties. Pour the creamy mixture over the entire dish, ensuring everything is coated. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and everything is cooked through.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let it sit for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
