Ingredients

1 package of refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)

1 cup cooked and seasoned ground beef (or turkey)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (any color)

1/4 cup diced onion

1 teaspoon taco seasoning

1/2 cup salsa

1 large egg (for egg wash)

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Sour cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the cooked ground beef with taco seasoning, diced bell peppers, onion, and 1/4 cup of salsa. Stir and cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Roll Out the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Pinch the perforations to seal and form one large rectangle.

Add the Filling: Spread the meat and vegetable mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the mixture.

Roll and Cut: Starting from the long side, carefully roll the dough into a log. Once rolled, slice the log into equal sticks, about 1 inch thick.

Prepare for Baking: Place the taco sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of the sticks to give them a golden color.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the taco sticks are golden and puffed.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with salsa and sour cream on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
