Ingredients

1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

cooked white rice or noodles, for serving

sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.

Prepare the sauce by mixing the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, beef broth, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and brown sugar in a small bowl. Set aside.

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside on a plate.

In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil, then add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the broccoli florets to the pan and stir-fry for another 3-5 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender, but still crisp.

Return the cooked beef to the pan and pour the sauce over the mixture. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.

Serve the beef and broccoli hot over a bed of cooked white rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
