Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Let it reduce for about 3-5 minutes.

Make it Creamy: Stir in the heavy cream and bring it back to a simmer. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Combine Everything: Add the cooked fettuccine and shrimp back into the skillet, tossing well to coat in the creamy sauce. If using, add lemon zest for brightness.

Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
