Ingredients

4 slices of garlic bread (store-bought or homemade)

4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, and thyme mix)

A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Garlic Bread: If using store-bought garlic bread, ensure it is thawed if frozen. For homemade, create a mixture of butter, minced garlic, and Italian herbs and spread it evenly on your bread slices.

Build the Sandwich: Take 2 slices of garlic bread, and place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on one of the slices. Top with the second slice of garlic bread to form a sandwich.

Butter and Season: Spread a thin layer of softened butter on the outer sides of the sandwich. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and dried Italian herbs on top of the buttered sides for added flavor.

Grill the Sandwich: Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwich butter-side down in the skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes until the bread is golden brown and crispy.

Flip and Cook: Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the second side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and crispy. If you'd like it extra toasted, you can press down gently with a spatula.

Serve: Once done, remove from heat, and let it sit for a minute. Cut the grilled cheese diagonally and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a side of tomato soup.
