Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup apple cider

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 large egg

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup melted butter (for coating)

1/2 cup cinnamon sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with non-stick spray or butter.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the apple cider, applesauce, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

Make the Batter: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Fill the Donut Pan: Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.

Bake the Donuts: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when lightly touched and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cool Briefly: Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Coat in Butter and Cinnamon Sugar: Once cooled, dip each donut in melted butter, ensuring it's well coated, and then roll in the cinnamon sugar until fully covered.

Serve & Enjoy: Serve your irresistible apple cider donuts warm, with a cup of hot cider or coffee!
