Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (preferably 80% lean)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 teaspoons honey or brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch piece ginger, minced

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup cooked jasmine rice (or brown rice)

1 cup broccoli florets

1 carrot, julienned

2 green onions, chopped

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Optional toppings: fried egg, seaweed, kimchi

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.

In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, gochujang, honey (or brown sugar), and black pepper. Pour this mixture over the cooked beef in the skillet, stirring well to combine. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Meanwhile, steam the broccoli florets and julienned carrots either in a steamer basket or in the microwave until tender, about 3-4 minutes.

To assemble the bowls, start with a base of cooked rice. Top with the spicy ground beef mixture, steamed broccoli, and carrots.

Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the top. For an extra indulgent touch, you can add a fried egg, some seaweed sheets, or a side of kimchi.

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Korean Ground Beef Bowl!
