Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

4 burger buns

Lettuce and tomato slices for topping

Olive oil for cooking

Optional: aioli or your favorite condiment

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined—be careful not to overmix, as this may result in tough burgers.

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken patties, cooking for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns. You can lightly toast them in a toaster or on a separate skillet for added flavor.

Once the patties are done, assemble the burgers: place each chicken patty on a toasted bun, and top with lettuce, tomato slices, and any additional condiments you desire, such as aioli or mayonnaise.

Serve immediately with your favorite side, like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
